About the Role
South Bosque Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our well-established, six-doctor small animal practice serving Waco and the surrounding communities.
We’re a collaborative, down-to-earth team that enjoys working together, values clear communication, and takes pride in providing quality care to our patients and clients. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. Our team enjoys working together, shares a lot of laughs, and keeps things light. At the same time, we show up every day ready to do right by our patients and clients.
About the Practice
South Bosque Veterinary Clinic is a well-equipped, busy small animal hospital serving Waco and the surrounding communities. We see a wide range of cases and focus on practical, high-quality care.
Our facility includes:
- 7 exam rooms
- Digital radiology (including dental)
- Full in-house laboratory (including coag)
- Ultrasound
- Two-table surgical suite
- Two-table dental suite
- Dedicated office space for each associate
With six doctors on staff, collaboration and mentorship are a core part of how we practice, with regular case discussion and one-on-one support always available.

About the Area
Waco offers a low-traffic, easygoing lifestyle with convenient access to larger cities. Located between Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin, you can enjoy a more manageable day-to-day pace while still being close to bigger events, dining, and entertainment.
Responsibilities
- Provide wellness, diagnostic, and medical care for small animal patients
- Perform soft tissue surgeries, dental procedures, and orthopedic procedures (if desired)
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding treatment options and recommendations
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Work collaboratively with doctors and support staff
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-focused work environment
Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent from an accredited program
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Texas
- Small animal experience preferred (new graduates considered)
- Comfortable with general medicine, surgery, and dentistry (or motivated to grow)
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Reliable, team-oriented, and professional

Veterinary Technician
Position Overview

What You’ll Be Working On
- Engaging and communicating with clients in a professional, friendly demeanor
- Educate clients on proper preventative care for their pets
- Getting and maintaining patient medical history information
- Assist the doctor with patient treatments, procedures and activities
- Monitor patients during surgeries, dentals or other treatments and report observations to doctors
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, serums or treatments under guide of doctor
- Aide in care of all hospitalized pets
- Assist with taking digital radiographs
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or management
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift 40 pounds required
- Ability to work 1-2 Saturday mornings per month required
- LVT (Licensed Veterinary Technician) degree highly preferred but not required
- At least one year of prior veterinary experience preferred but not required
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
- Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
